Try It Classes
Enrollment: Not sure the potters wheel is for you? We offer a one time “Try it” class on Friday evenings. We have space for 8 students per class.
Cost: The cost of our Try It is $75 per guest for a 2.5 hour class.
Know Before You Go: Our try it classes are an experience to get your hands dirty and see if this is something you enjoy before committing to an 8-week course. You will not be taking any items home from this event although you will be taking home a great memory!
Night Of: We do not have dedicated parking, street parking is available on 7th as well as C streets and in the 700 Pennsylvania Ave building. Please arrive on time so you don’t miss any information. We suggest; wearing clothes you don’t mind getting dirty, closed toed shoes, short finger nails, bring a small towel, wear long hair up, and have fun!
Not finding any available spots? We open classes one month ahead the first week of each month. To receive an email when new classes are available sign up for the mailing list! It’s one email once a month, promise.
8-Week Classes
ALL CLASSES ARE CURRENTLY FULL, HOWEVER YOU MAY READ BELOW FOR INSTRUCTIONS ON JOINING THE WAITLIST
Beginning in 2023, we require all prospective students to attend a Try-It class (see information on this page) prior to joining the class waitlist. After completing the Try-it each student will receive instructions for joining the class waitlist. This replaces our previous waitlist sign-up process in an attempt to keep our waitlist manageable and give those on the list a better chance of joining a class.
If you have previously been on the waitlist you will receive separate communication. Not sure where you stand? Send us an email via Contact Us page.
Enrollment: Student enrollment is for eight consecutive weeks of class. Each student is on their own rolling admission (there are no formal semesters). The studio has capacity for 8 students per class.
Cost: The cost of an eight week session is $310 for 3 hour classes. The cost includes a storage shelf, clay, firings, as well as access to the studio on Saturday for Open Studio for an additional hourly fee.
Hand-building: While the studio is focused on instruction in wheel throwing, hand-building is available. All students have access to a large slab roller as well as both large and small extruders plus various hand-building tools.
